Can’t wait to get started. Perfect for what I’m doing.
for how much you sale this paddle boards?
ua-cam.com/video/MrQfAACmwzk/v-deo.htmlsi=gu_J1J9xSSM-X_fA
What glue do you use?
I mostly used an epoxy called Surfset Flex made in Australia and polyurethane glue for the butt joints.
Sailing version? Or is that asking too much? Of course the purist in me thinks proa but then you’re looking at an asymmetric canoe which would be useless for other purposes, like half a double canoe. Great stuff Aaron. I have been diverted from small stuff since we are prepay Jarkan for cruising. Moored near Rip Bridge these days (for now)
Hello... Great job... Congratulations. But did you build the sail with the mast yourself or did you buy it already made? Do you have a video or purchase link for the sail? Thank you. Greetings. Philip
Thanks mate. The sail would have been too difficult to make myself and get the aerofoil shape perfect. I bought it from Star Kayak Sails. It’s their 3.3sqm sail.
I like your new outrigger better hope to see you paddling it.
That's the plan!
Very cool!
Please use a transparent top so you can see the beautiful inner structure. Marvelous.
cool great job and skills but how didyou make the furling sail mast
Thanks! The sail I got from Star Kayak Sails, Bill Pain is the designer and has a great UA-cam channel explaining his sails.
Very good job! Nice clip!
what a whim!
Love the simplicity and the rugged feel of the bamboo crossbeams. I'd say that I suspect you won't sail it, but I believe you even converted a SUP to sail power, so I'll withhold predictions! Great to see another video from you after such a long time. I was inspired by your beautiful wa'apa build in particular (but also found your note about long setup/rigging times very useful - not practical for me).
Thanks mate, the bamboo works so perfectly. You guessed right, there’s a sail option I’m working on!
Dont forget you can learn a lot from the 21ft Wharram's 🌌🧙🏼♂️
Muito legal, ela é rápida na água?
Thanks! Yes, the board paddles really well. It cuts through choppy water with ease!
@@Aaron.deRuiter tanks!
Wow! What a beautiful build! How many paddle boards had you built prior to constucting this one? This seemed not to be your first try.
Thanks mate! This is the 4th board I’ve designed and built. You can find my designs at www.vintageboardco.com.au.
Yeah, gonna need some plans! Looks great!
Sleek design! I can imagine how easily it glides.
Well done. That looks phenomenal. A labor of love. I want to build one
awesome, waiting for the plans
This looks great! I love your designs. Me and my son are going to build the cut water soon once I have other jobs out the way. I can see a sailing version of this being built some time in the future.
Thanks Andrew! Awesome you guys will enjoy building your board, it’s great fun and so is the paddling 👍👍
Awesome, looking forward for the plans!
They’ll be out soon!
Aaron how did this project go? Or is it still in progress? Also, any chance you'll build race paddleboard, something long and narrow for speed? Loving your videos...
I've been slowly working on the cat project, the goal is to have the boat in the water and sailing by september. I am also working on a 14ft paddleboard design which will have a beam of 28inches. I'll share some images of the new board soon.
Great video ,great music .Thank you !
Many thanks!!
привет. круто! предложение сделать два слоя тонкого стекла. и класть его уже пропитанным. или под вакуум. отличная работа! собакен доволен больше всех)))
My wife used these plans from woodprix and she's very satisfied.
Thanks for shearing, Hoping for something to float me around, these summer days coming up
Thanks for watching, hopefully a new video coming out soon.
Really like the design you’re going to build, once I finish my current boat, that will be my next boat to build, I look forward to seeing your progress mate, And hopefully move back down to the central coast in the coming years Thanks again mate and keep up the great work Your boat name has meaning for you and that’s awesome Yeeeeeew
Fantastic craftsmanship! Awesome paddleboard.
Thanks mate!
@@Aaron.deRuiter I'm avid paddleboard(sman). Tried and use heavy plastic to go downstream through rapids or get through heavy brush along Potomac edge. Inflatables are ease to roll and store, take somewhere, but pain to pump up every time. However for pure paddling joy - veneer made hand crafted are most awesome - cutting perfectly through water.
thankyou for no music 😀, great job
Truly beautiful. 6:22 What is this box for? Weight distribution?
Thanks! The box is actually the handle.

just do it!
What an ingenuity ❤
Great Job! You inspired me to make one. May you please drop the measurments (W L D of the final product)
In the description of go to www.vintageboardco.com.au for plans.
The handle is a great idea.
Fantastic, thank you
Any discount soon?
No fiberglass on this board?
Any coming discount for the plan?,
Hi, 11:10 this is GROUND glass fiber 0.2 mm?
Hi Aaron, I noticed that you commented on difficult tacking for a catamaran. Could you give your opinion on the tacking ability of the 16ft Wa'apa that you built previously? Was it a problem? Regards, Mark. (Gawler Sth Australia)
This is awesome man. Nice work
Nice work, but i assume the next step will be a small sailboat like a LASER with a far better performance..
Does she sail?
haha not this one! I'm building a 20ft sailing cat at the moment!
There you go kid!!! What are you sitting on? Could she go upwind without boom? Can you still stand and paddle?
Looks like a FUN project! Can’t wait to see it unfold!
Is there a reasoning behind the fact that the undersides of the ribs are arched?
To reduce weight. The curves transfer the load to the hull corner joint stronger than a straight section would.
@@Aaron.deRuiter how about the middle section flexing though?
